Calendar of Professional Learning 2026
SVRC’s 2026 Calendar of Professional Learning comprises both online and on demand professional learning days and on-site days in Term 1, 2026. The online and on demand professional learning days are available all year and one can register and view recorded sessions in your own time. These will be available throughout 2026 on the following topics:
Inclusion of students who are blind
Inclusion of students who have low vision
Inclusion of students who have vision impairments and additional disabilities
Preparing your school for a student who reads braille
Art4VIKids – Inclusion of students who are blind or have low vision in art
In Term 1 & 2, we will have our ‘hands-on’ PL days at SVRC in Donvale:
February 17 – Introduction to support for Visiting Teachers (Vision) from SVRC
March 3 – Inclusion of students with VI in maths with Sarah Hayman and Lauren Palmer
March 17 – Introduction to computer screen readers – JAWS & NVDA with Elise Lonsdale
March 31 - Inclusion of students with vision impairments in PE with Emily White
April 28 – Introduction to computer screen readers – VoiceOver with Elise Lonsdale
The Maths, PE and Music days were recorded in 2025, and are available as ‘on demand’ PL sessions until they are re-recorded in 2026.
In Term 4, we will again have our Access Technology Expo which will be onsite with some online workshops and demonstrations.
